Product Information
All of our stitches are hand sewn in Los Angeles. All Cleo Bags are made of Oeko-Tex certified by-product leather and our herbivore bags are made from Peta approved water based, fruit & vegetable leather. We find handmade imperfections add character and beauty to each of our unique handbags. To clean leather & plant based bags we recommend Kaps, a biodegradable accessory solvent. Use suede cleaner for interior. Denim and cotton based bags can be machine washed on delicate and air dried. All bags are fit for dry cleaning.
From day one, Cleo has made conscious decisions to reduce waste and re-use all leftover materials. Cleo began solely as a scrap-based brand and as demand grew, Cleo committed to prototyping with alternate leathers as they become available and sourcing leather responsibly - this is a priority as the brand expands. Leather is considered a natural product which ensures durability over time. Cleo Bags are meant to be worn every day and sewn to last.

Exchanges & Returns
Send an email to cleojcamp@gmail.com within three days of purchase / delivery and without use for a return or exchange. Please email for free in house repairs (customer is responsible for shipping / local drop-off).
Sample bags sold in person and via direct message are one of one and sold at a discounted price. Made to order and custom bags are not eligible for returns.

It was heartbreak that led to the iconic Cleo Bag - for Day & Night.
Cleo designed her first bag in her living room. Later that summer, she bought a pile of scraps from a shoemaker and started to fill heartbroken hours sewing silver bags. Her first sale at Melet Mercantile sold out. On her own, she made and sold 300 in six months. She couldn’t sew fast enough.
Suddenly, women and girls were meeting in bathroom mirrors, across restaurant tables, and on the streets of foreign cities with bags alike. A sisterhood was born. The self-titled brand, Cleo, gives voice to a redefined identity. A reminder that even in the dark, day will come.
Cleo is inspired by summers spent growing up in a sea-side town with red pebbled beaches and salty air. The brand’s signature effortless cottons, shimmery accents and floral fabrics are attributed to the Mistral - a fervid summer storm of warm rain, powerful gusts of wind and silver clouds that hang, glowing over the vast navy sea.
